Alexandria resident Jack Taylor has thrown down a challenge. If the MV Big Flea can raise $500 in cash contributions in the next seven days, he will match those donations dollar for dollar. If successful, that means we’ll raise an extra $1,000!
So where does the money go? To the nonprofit Mount Vernon Community School PTA, a public school in the Del Ray section of Alexandria. The money we raise is used for field trips, extra teacher supplies, after-school clubs and extracurricular activities like African-American, Hispanic and Asian Heritage nights. Without this funding, these important programs will end.
You can help by making a 100% tax deductible donation online. Simply click on this link or click below the “Challenge Grant” headline at the top of this site. From here you can make a donation with your credit card or PayPal account. We can also accept personal checks and cash: Please make checks payable to MVCS-PTA and mail to 106 E Cliff Street, Alexandria, VA, 22301. No donation is too small.
This is a fantastic opportunity to double your impact while gaining an important tax break at the same time. But don’t delay. If you have any questions about this effort, please call me at 202.288.5124 or email me at email@example.com. Many thanks, in advance, for your support.
